Great job to everyone who is taking on the nutrition project and trying to change things for the better! I have heard a lot of stories over the past week, some impressive and others not so impressive. I’d love to hear from everyone who said they’d make a change for the project. Did you make the change? Is it going well? Did you fall off? Did you not start? Are you going to get back on? Will you make it the 35 days? Any withdrawal symptoms? Or whatever you feel like sharing. I know A LOT of you took on the challenge, I can’t wait to see what you all have to say!

For me, giving up coffee was a lot more difficult than I had anticipated! The first day wasn’t too bad, but the second day was one of the toughest days I have had in years. I didn’t really get the headaches everyone was talking about, I just felt completely drained of any energy. I felt like I could have slept ALL DAY!!! Still clean, no coffee and as always I’m eating pretty damn good!

I went completely strict paleo for 34 days back in September. I have stuck to a fairly strict paleo/primal regimine since. I have broke down and had some wine on a few occasions and had oatmeal at work because I had to eat something (lack of planning on my part). I did never give up coffee, my one vice. I also now thanks to Molly drink bone broth and a green juice everyday .

It was hard at first. I felt lethargic and drained for about 10 days, then my body seemed to do a switch and I have felt great ever since. I have increased my carb intake and eat a good amount of sweet potatoes, berries and stone fruits. I have also dabbled in the world of paleo treats, and have found and made some fantastic recipes that have curbed any sweet tooth I may have ever had. I am still in the process of tweaking and playing with foods to see how my body will react. It is kind of a fun experiment.

I started Paleo the first week I began my crossfit journey with the bearded hippy. The first two weeks were very rough soreness and detoxing at the same time I don’t know that I would recommend. After the first couple weeks carb, and sugar cravings went away completely. I also have added bone broth.
I went on vacation to New York 2 months into my Paleo adventure and decided to gorge myself on pizza, sugar, and carbs. I remember feeling horrible, and all I craved was more carbs and sugar. It was a lesson I am glad to have learned.
I stick to grass fed beef, vegetables, almond/cashew butter, sausage, hard boiled eggs, bacon, raspberries, squashes, and an occasional piece of dark chocolate. I also just started making homemade apple sauce with bacon. I plan to expand my Paleo appetite as I get bored of my routine foods.
I have learned that Paleo takes effort, planning ahead and preparing. To me it is a lifestyle choice not a 35 day challenge.
