ACF 12/17/12

ACF’s first group of competitors

Way to go ACF! This past Saturday a good size group of us met at 6am at the box and drove down to Fairfield to support and be a part of the Capoot Fitness Challenge. We entered in 3 teams and all three teams finished in the top ten. T and her partner Laura from ARCFit placed 8th, Kyle and FireSteve placed 5th and Molly and Jenny finished in first place. Congratulations to all of the competitors! Those were some grueling WODs that kind of even looked a little fun… Thank you to all of the support crew that came down as well and cheered on our fellow ACFers.

Thanks to all of you who came out and supported us. We all had a blast. It was fun to watch Molly and Jenny dominate the workouts and beat 2 all men teams to stand on top of the podium. Good job girls, you both rocked it! Thanks Kyle for pounding through those 3 workouts with me. Thanks coach for giving us the tools to succeed in a grueling 3 workout day in cold wet weather.

And to all of you just realize we are all extreme athletes whether we compete or not. If you make it to the gym on a consistent basis, then you need to realize that you are an exceptional athlete, because our awesome coach has given us and helped us develop the skills we need.

I see many more successful competitions in the future for the athletes of ACF.

Sorry nooners, had to go to 830 today. Good workout to get some of the residual soreness out. Finished in 7:00 rx.

ACF has been around for what, just 7-8 months…..how awesome is that! Coach is legit (which we already knew), as it was so apparent watching our fellow ACF athletes rock it. Thanks Coach, and great job guys/gals. Let’s get FireSteve ready for the NorCal Masters….

Ding Dong’s was a blast, and suprisingly quite pleasant. Tried some butterfly pull-ups, today…might be my new thing. But as usual, its my lower half that needs the attention.

FYI – Coach and Coach Keith…in-laws in town starting tomorrow. H-bomb and I will have some schedule issues. Later

I also wanted to THANK everyone who came to support the 3 ACF teams at the Challenge on Sat. A SPECIAL THANKS to IntenseSteve, without you in my ear that last WOD I might have given up!
I can say I had no idea how well Molly and I would do going into it…I even excepted the thought that we might get our butts handed to us.

All 3 of our top 10 finishes came down to excellent (form) coaching, and a testament to what a great community of hard working athletes you are creating Elijah. You have a vision, and everyone needs to get on the SHIP.

FireSteve you are a MACHINE never faltering.

Kyle I saw you push yourself to the red line and pass it as you came up gasping for air as though you were under water (very impressive).

T I will remember seeing you PUSH in that second WOD to finish the last 12 burpies before the time expired. Seeing you jump up and give your partner a huge hug in victory made me want to push for my teammate (you inspire me, you get me, I love working out with you).

To my partner Molly who had to listen to me strategize, and over analyze and would basically say “I’m just going to keep it simple.” I believe you were by far the BEST female competitor out there. I feel very blessed to have experienced your first competition with you. YOU were meant to compete! One of my favorite things you said after one of the WODS was you “can’t hear anyone once we get going.” Molly that is what’s called getting in the zone, and all the great athletes of this world say!

One last and final note…I challenge every athlete at ACF to set a goal to compete at one of these competition. You will learn so much about yourself!

Great Job FireSteve, Kyle, Molly, Jenny and T!! You all inspire me and I hope to set some goals lined up so I can kick butt with you all!
