Eight Common Myths about Strength Training
Oh thank god!
Good articles Coach E, I love strong women!! My wife is strong and I love that!!!
great workout today! the hang snatch warm up and 30 rep hang squat clean felt really good, and i think focusing on that third pull will make a significant difference when we work on those lifts again.
i’ve been reflecting on something i read some time ago in the box life magazine, about how an athlete was focusing on improving one skill and how a different skill, something he wasn’t focusing on, improved during that same time. we each walk into the box with the intention of improving a particular skill (or a long list of skills), and maybe we make progress and maybe we don’t, but i think sometimes we fail to see how much we’re improving the skills we’re not focusing on. keep on tackling that list of skills, but don’t forget to take inventory and give yourself some credit for all the ancillary skills you’re developing without even realizing it.
in other news, i just harvested two baby kombucha scobys if anyone is interested in fermenting their own kombucha . one of them is stained pink from crimsom blossom tea – so cute! i’m sipping a glass of kombucha fermented with trader joe’s duchess grey tea (one of my favorite flavors for iced tea) and it is delicious!
Molly, I would love a baby kombucha scoby. You’ll just have to walk me through the process because I have no idea what the heck to do. 🙂
molly i totally agree with your statement on give yourself credit..
Molly I always love your insight into what we do everyday. I have been frustrated lately because I feel I can’t push myself as hard as I would like because of my shoulder, but I have slyly improved on other things. So your statement rings so true to me. It was fun today, felt good to just lift.
We had a good crew at 830 this morning. Thanks for the push guys, I wouldn’t have gone as heavy if you weren’t there!
Shout out to my girl Trace who absolutely owned the bench press tonight! So proud of her . . . She kicked my butt and I loved it. Keith your coaching today was awesome. Thank you for being so encouraging. It helps override the voice in my head. Fire Steve . . . . Don’t you even get down on yourself. Your shoulder will heal in time and in the meantime you still are r bomb in the box. Seriously, you remind me that the Over 40’s totally have it. Heck ya.
Thanks Melly and Keith for letting me sneak in at 7:00 and get some work in. Great coaching K! Nice weight Melly!
Amy, glad you could make it so I wasn’t the only 6:30’er!
