Anyone know any good olive oil producers?

after listening to this story, I only buy olive oil produced in California: http://www.npr.org/blogs/thesalt/2012/12/06/166662525/u-s-olive-oil-makers-say-imports-arent-always-so-extra-virgin

Surely there’s a mess of olive oil producers in California, and aside from farmer’s markets, we seem to enjoy the products at Winterhill Farms which has a shop in Placerville.

Yesterday’s WOD with Turkish get-ups inspired me to develop strength and stability in my arms. TGUs are not something I would ever do outside of Crossfit. I need peer support and coach’s direction to get through the tougher workouts.

There is a great producer that sells their olive oil at the Nevada County farmer’s market. They are Chaffin Family Orchards out of Oroville I believe. http://www.chaffinfamilyorchards.com/

Also I’ve read that the organic Kirkland brand olive oil does really well on their quality/purity tests.

Ps, we’ve had a sick baby over here so running on little sleep. Hopefully I can make it in tomorrow evening and meet my 3x/week goal. Next week maybe I’ll start the 4x/week goal. Gotta start somewhere, right?

Rowing is a beast of a metabolic workout. Fight through the pain and enjoy.

You seem to tackle that beast pretty well along with Adam…you rocked today!

A great olive oil is Bariani out of Newcastle…I think, they sell it at a lot of the grocery stores.

I know it is not around the corner but if you are ever in the Napa area the Napa Valley Olive Oil Manufacturing Company has great locally produced olive oil. I buy a case whenever I get out there. Old hole in the wall Italian market with fair prices.
