Good stuff. I like this Seth. Looking forward to meeting him. Sorry, late night inspired blogging…
Got to get over Modified. It can be a great word when it comes to describing enhancing the performance of a car engine, but to be honest I have really been struggling with the word as it relates to me and crossfit. Maybe it’s because it brings back memories of my school days and my teachers telling me they needed to modify my behavior. Maybe it seems to close to failure. After walking around the last two days like Fred Sanford (Redd Foxx) from Sanford and Sons and listening to a loop of “I’m much too young to feel this damn old” playing in my head I am willing to reconsider my position. I need to remind myself why I joined crossfit (Kyle said I needed to say all these things as part of my psychotherapy). It was to get in shape so I could spend more time doing the things in life that I enjoy including playing with my 4 munchkins, hunting, hiking, frisbee golf and fishing with family and friends, laughing and dancing… oh and my newest favorite, giant slippy slides (thanks Conner)! So as I sit here writing, swallowing my pride (with beers) and smearing DMSO all over my knee, I am going to try hard to approach things more logically. I love what crossfit is doing for me and I truly believe ACF is unique in comparison to the rest (you really get it E & R). I feel privileged to be in the presence of so many good people. I also believe that crossfit is for all. To me that is the beauty of it, young, old, big, small together. I am stating the obvious when I say it renders varying levels of results based on personal goals, physical abilities and pure desire. Of course I want to do what you young whippersnappers (old ones too) are doing (you make it look so easy) but I understand it is going to take time. Time to let my body catch up with my mind. I can also accept the idea I may not be able to do it all. I think I am starting to get it now. Being raised a good Catholic boy, this blogging feels much like confession. Thanks again for letting me be part of ACF. Be good.

PS. Lanette, the meat juice is working wonders and I have been using it for all sorts of recipes. Thanks. Safe travels.

PPS. Coach, this blog has got to count for at least 100 burpees!

PPPS. For those of you who do not know who Redd is, here you go. I apologize if the subject matter offends anyone. Seriously, I am walking just like him… all of it… people were ripping me at work today… mostly look like him towards the end! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmlFzw5xvoE

Molly thanks for all of your help, I swear I thought my bum was gonna touch the floor only to find out I was nowhere close, lol. The hardest part was focusing on form and not going for the big numbers.
