Felt good today with the following exceptions
    1) Wall ball in the face
    2) Glancing blow to the chin during the clean and jerk

Yeah, I’m getting 135lb without dropping this time! Good article on foam rolling, where can I get one up here?

For those going to Tough Mudder, don’t forget your signed waiver and driver’s license. I’ll bring some extra waiver forms to the box tonight.

I wanted to share one of my favorite crockpot dinners. Cashew Chicken. Enjoy!

      One more time.

2 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast tenders
1/4 Cup all purpose flour (I used coconut flour)
      1/2 tsp black pepper
      1 Tbsp Coconut oil
1/4 Cup soy sauce (I use Tamari Sauce, or use coconut aminos)
      2 Tbsp rice wine vinegar
      2 Tbsp ketchup (I didn’t use)
1 Tbsp Brown sugar (I use honey)
      1 garlic clove, minced
      1/2 tsp grated fresh ginger
      1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
      1/2 Cup cashews (unsalted)
1 Small Green or red cabbage, shredded

      Directions
      1. Combine flour and pepper in a large container or bag.
      2. Add chicken.
      3. Shake to coat chicken with flour mixture.
      4. Heat oil in skillet over medium-high heat.
      5. Brown chicken about 2 minutes on each side.
      6. Combine soy sauce, vinegar, ketchup, honey, garlic, ginger, and pepper flakes in a slow cooker and stir.
      7. Place chicken in slow cooker.
      8. Cook on low for 3 to 4 hours.
      9. Add in cashews and stir.
      10. Serve over chopped cabbage.

    (Love it Adam)

Liked the articles today – At age EIGHTEEN I was told I should start supplementing calcium by my ‘womans health’ doctors. No questioning about my activity level, eating habits, etc.

I listened to a good interview on NPR talking about some doctors relinquishing the traditional ‘medicate the problem approach’ in favor of ‘look for, and remedy, the source of the problem’. They’ve coined this ‘upstream’ medicine. Clearly doesn’t apply to everything but is likely a better approach to a lot of diseases.

I feel encouraged by how much more you hear about diet, lifestyle, alternative thoughts on heart disease, etc in the media. We may actually see a paradigm shift. Goes along with the TED link the other day about the ER doc amputating a diabetics food, and if I may suggest one more TED talk that had me captivated, proud and pumping my fist to the sky – check out ‘The Gangster Gardener’

I accidentally sniffed a gnat up my nose the other day – does that count for me getting my true paleo protein?

    From the TM info pack…

    * Hydration system – FILLED WITH WATER, not beer, Heather! Again, it is likely that it will be HOT at Tough Mudder Tahoe. Please arrive on course fully hydrated and be sure take full advantage of water stations.

How did they know H-bomb was recommending that we carry beer?

I think Kyle’s 12 days of Christmas WOD should just be burpees for each day.

Couldn’t agree more about the paradigm shift, it’s pretty exciting to be a part of!

Amy, only if you picked it back out and ate it 8)

Thanks Coach Molly for helping me conquer Gwen . . . I pretty much hate that girl and totally broke up with her last time. She looks all sweet and easy and she so aint. Thanks for encouragement to try again.
