A lot of you folks have been asking about nutrition pointers so, this Saturday after the 9am workout we will go over the basics of nutrition. After you take a few weeks to work on the things we give you this weekend, we will do another nutrition lesson in February.

    Listening to NPR on the way home from the gym this morning got me thinking about ways to shake up our environment to change our habits:

    “To battle bad behaviors then, one answer is to disrupt the environment in some way. Even small changes can help — like eating the ice cream with your non-dominant hand. What this does is disrupt the learned body sequence that’s driving the behavior, which allows your conscious mind to come back online and reassert control.”

    So I decided to make dinner food for breakfast. Chicken, sweet potatoes and rainbow chard instead of eggs and toast (bread has become a convenient but undesirable habit). There will be leftovers for lunch (eating out has also become a convenient but undesirable habit). I like the idea of little changes over drastic overhauls. Here’s to resetting the system and reasserting control!

    5:17 on today’s workout. Feels good to be back at it, but I’ve got some work to do!

    Breakfast for dinner tonight (normal habit)!
